As an Adult-by-Design experience, there’s an array of carefully selected beer, wine and expert cocktails ship-wide. Sailors may bring two (2) 750mL bottles of wine per cabin in carry-on bags on embarkation day (no liquor or beer). Any alcohol in checked luggage will be collected pre-sailing and returned once your voyage is complete. Specialty liquors from a port of call may be brought on board — hand them to security when boarding and they’ll be held until your final night.

Every Virgin Voyages sailing is an experience created exclusively for adults. The minimum age to book and sail is 18 years old.

Clothing irons are not allowed on board. Flat irons for hair are fine. A hair dryer is already provided in your cabin.

Small quantities of water, protein-based drinks, non-alcoholic beer, or soft drinks in boxes and cans are permitted in hand luggage only. Bottled drinks (glass or plastic) are not permitted. Maximum twelve (12) sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 oz or less per person. Contact Sailor Services for special needs.

Though unlikely, Virgin Voyages reserves the right to refuse booking or deny boarding to anyone who does not comply with the rules and regulations in the ticket contract.

Smoking is only permitted in The Smoking Room on Deck 6 Forward and the designated smoking area on Deck 16 Forward, Starboard, near Richard’s Rooftop. Smoking is not allowed in any other areas — including cabin terraces. Smoking of any kind (including vape devices) outside designated areas results in a $500 fee, is a material breach of your ticket contract, and may result in disembarkation at the next port with no refund. Repatriating fees will be charged to your onboard account.

Alcohol laws vary by itinerary. In the U.S. the legal drinking age is 21; other ports follow local law. In international waters, Sailors 18+ may consume alcohol unless otherwise restricted by itinerary. On Alaska itineraries, all Sailors must be 21+ to purchase or consume alcohol on board. Alcohol cannot be brought on board by anyone under the applicable legal drinking age.

Are there restrictions on persons with prior criminal convictions?

Virgin Voyages is committed to a safe environment and reserves the right to deny boarding to any person convicted of certain felonies — including aggravated physical and/or sexual assault, armed robbery and related offenses, and other violent crimes. Virgin Voyages may access public records as part of Sailor screening and cancel bookings or deny embarkation at any time. Sole recourse in such cases is a refund of the amount paid for that individual’s booking.
